Epsom Salt in Your Fitness Routine

I've heard about the benefits of Epsom Salt soaks after a workout for quite a while but I never gave it a try until recently. I've been told Epsom Salt helps soothe your muscles and relieves stress. At this point in my life, I will try anything to reduce stress.

Epsom salt is composed of magnesium sulfate. Magnesium is very important to your body because it helps keep your bodily functions moving regularly. I read on the Epsom Salt box that I purchased at Target, that you can drink water with Epsom Salt to help with constipation. This blog isn't about that topic BUT in case you are feeling a little bloated and CVS is closed, give it a try.

I am told that soaking in Epsom Salt increases the magnesium levels in our body and helps your body reduce stress which in turns helps treat muscle soreness. It sounded like bull to me but I gave it a try anyway. Any excuse to run a warm bath is a good one to me.

I filled the tub with warm water, threw in 3 cups of Epsom Salt, made sure it dissolved, jumped in and soaked for 15 minutes. Not sure if it worked BUT I am not sore today so perhaps it did.

After doing some research on the topic, I learned that soaking three times a week can help soften your skin, reduce wrinkles, and help your body detox. Sounds harmless and a household remedy thats been around for ages.
