P90x2 + Healthy dinner = Productive Day

Some days you just have to give yourself a high-five for being awesome. I am so proud of myself today. I worked out AND cooked a healthy meal. Yay!!!!! Considering all the carbs I ate this past weekend and all the sitting on other people's sofas, this feels like a milestone. I skipped p90x2 Day 11 yesterday but because I've done all the other workouts so far, I decided to continue and not start over. I think I will extend this phase an extra week to make up for the holiday season. Sounds fair, right?

So today's workout was the Total Body DVD. If you recall last week, I didn't do very well with this workout. Today was a slight bit better. This is how it all went down:

  1. 1-Arm Chest Press - 15 each side, red bands
  2. 4- Position Pull-Up - 4 rounds with chair
  3. Push-Up Side Arm Balance - 12 Standard (no medicine balls)
  4. Switch Lunge Press - 12 w/bands
  5. Warrior 3 Kickback - 12 w/bands
  6. Warrior 3 Curl - 10 w/ bands. Completely off balance after 8.
  7. WATER BREAK - Success! lol
  8. Boing Push-Up - 7 . . . no boing. Just trying to stabilize myself on the stability ball.
  9. Crunchy Lever Pull-Up - none.
  10. Mule Kick Burpee - 5.
  11. Swimmer's Curl Press in 1/2 Chair - 7
  12. Balance Kickback on Stability Ball - 12. did it with no stability ball. Not there yet. Almost fell over.
  13. Rocket Launcher Preacher Curl - 12
  14. Water Break - PERFECT! On to Round 2.

  16. 4- Position Pull-Up - 4 rounds with chair
  17. Push-Up Side Arm Balance - 9 Standard (no medicine balls)
  18. Switch Lunge Press - 10 w/bands
  19. Warrior 3 Kickback - 12 w/bands
  20. Warrior 3 Curl - 10 w/ bands. Completely off-balance after 8.
  21. WATER BREAK - Couldn't get here fast enough.
  22. Boing Push-Up - None. Shaky arms. Losing steam.
  23. Crunchy Lever Pull-Up - None.
  24. Mule Kick Burpee - 5. Not as good as Dreya's but Mule.
  25. Swimmer's Curl Press in 1/2 Chair - 8
  26. Balance Kickback on Stability Ball - None.
  27. Rocket Launcher Preacher Curl - 12
  28. Cool Down. Yay!

And as expected Ab Ripper was much harder after going through week 1. I was shaking. I'll write more about Ab Ripper another day.

On another note, I've noticed a couple of people have found my blog while searching "best sneakers for p90x2." I've found my Puma Speeder RP sneakers to work best. I bought them for $30 at the Puma Outlet store and with insoles, they provide the best support.

Yum! I made Cream-Braised Brussel Sprouts thanks to Danfredo Rivera and Cauliflower Rice with Fried Onions thanks to Kalyn's Kitchen as sides to my chicken. It was all so very delicious and I got the thumbs up from the man in the house.
