30-Day Shred

I recently purchased Jillian Michaels' 30-day shred. I loved Ripped in 30 so much that I thought I should give another DVD a try. I found it for $10 at Target.

After completing week one and cross referencing it with week one of Ripped in 30, I wanted to make some notes for you guys and gals.

Ripped in 30 is a far better production. I sweat more, I burn more calories, and feel myself working harder when I do the routines in Ripped in 30.

The 30-day Shred uses the same 3-2-1 technique and looks like it was produced before Ripped in 30 so it makes sense that the latter is better because it should be. Many of the moves in week 1 are the same but I think the order of the moves makes a big difference. Also, the cardio portion of 30-day Shred is very much just cardio while the cardio version of Ripped in 30 incorporates abs and strength.

The other big difference is that the 30-day Shred only has three weeks and Ripped in 30 has four weeks. For people like me who get bored easily, that makes a big difference . . . .10 days of one routine vs. 7 days.

Overall, if you can't find Ripped in 30, the 30-day Shred is a good alternative. I hear there is another workout, the Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed and Shred that combines moves from both. It's two different workouts and they are 45-minutes. I'll try to find that one and review.

Until next time!
