Zumba For Life

It's not everyday you can hear (or read) another person's thoughts of you. On Saturday, the "Zumba Daddy" came to my class to try his very first Zumba class ever and then blogged about it. Mr. Z Daddy (or Joe) is promoting the Zumba For Life event which is the Relay for Life Kickoff event in Brooklyn, NY.

According to the Relay for Life website:

"In more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries, Relay For Life events comprise the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Each Relay For Life event is special to its community, but the movement's true power lies in the combined commitment of thousands of participants, volunteers, and supporters to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer."

The Zumba for Life event is also an attempt to make it to the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest indoor Zumba class. I'll be one of the instructors leading the event. As part of his journey, Joe is visiting all the instructors that will be leading the event and blogging about his adventures in the world of Zumba! I am so lucky to have students that are so friendly and welcoming to new students and after a brief introduction, they all smiled and wished Joe good luck in the class.

He took to the back, as most new students do, and danced with us. As anyone whose ever been part of a Zumba class, the class is a journey through music, cultures, and your physical being. From my eyes, Joe totally embraced Zumba and managed to keep a smile along the way. To read up on his Zumba journey, check out his website at http://zumbadaddyforrelayforlife.blogspot.com.
