When my Personal Life and Fitness Life COLLIDE at my wedding

Hey loves! I share a lot on social media but most of it has to do with my fitness journey. Not so much of my personal life. However, on my wedding day, my fitness journey and my personal life came together in a super special way! Here is the short version of the story. In late April, I was chosen to be part of a test group for a new dance fitness program that Beachbody is releasing in July called CIZE. Every morning, I go into NYC to dance my butt off. I can't tell you how much weight I lost due to contractual obligations but regardless, I lost weight and learned some amazing choreography.

I got married on May 16th and was able to show some of my and my husband's close friends the choreography and we SURPRISED him with a flash mob!!! It was so amazing to surprise him with this special gift and token of appreciation from not only myself but from his closest friends as well. Look at his face!

 Thank you for being part of MY LIFE. For your messages on social media, for your likes, your comments, and your double taps. It means the world to me! My life is filled with so many joyous people and I am blessed to have a life where I am in love, can follow my passions, and CAN DANCE!

Personal Development

So its no surprise to anyone that I do a lot of reading and a lot of listening. I post it all over social media and I am always referencing some guru. I just love knowledge. Which is why my earbuds are always in my ear and why I LIVE on Personal Development. My phone looks like this:

I listen to some podcasts as a way to better understand people and I listen to others as a way to better understand my business and leadership.

For this blog post, I will give you my top 5 podcasts:

1. The Charged Life by Brendon Burchard. The reason why I love this podcast is because its short! The episodes are never too long so I can listen to a lot of them at once. And I can listen to it over and over again and learn something new every time. Brendon is the man when it comes to motivation. I highly recommend.

2. The School of Greatness by Lewis Howes. This is the complete opposite than The Charged Life. Each episode is about an hour long and its interview style. Lewis has a different guest on EVERY SINGLE DAY and he is committed to helping his following. Its crazy that he actually posts everyday and its amazing the quality of speakers he attracts. I love them and listen religiously. Plus Lewis can dance salsa and one day I WILL DANCE WITH HIM.

3. Define Your Life by Shaun T. It's Shaun T. He is inspirational, motivating and your best friend all in a podcast. AND I HAVE DANCED WITH HIM! His style is very much just like chatting it up with a friend and I absolutely adore him to the moon and back. I don't care when he goes off in tangents. He does ad it's perfect. Like talking to a bestie.

4. Build Your Tribe by Chalene Johnson. The woman knows about list building and building an online business. Enough said.  And her voice is so awesome. She has a great tone and cadence. I feel like I am talking to my super knowledgeable mentor.

5. Top 3 for Entrepreneurs by Stephanie Burns. I just love how succinct this podcast is. She is always to the point and her guests rock. I just wish that she posted more frequently. I feel like there is no real schedule to her podcasts.

Beachbody Success Club Trip Day 2

I accidentally woke up at 5am! My favorite alarm is on my iPad and I forgot to put the iPad on Wifi so it was still on NY time. I set the alarm for 6am but it was really 5am in Mexico. Why was I up that early? Beachbody scheduled morning workouts with the trainers. Shaun T was at 7am, Autumn Calabrese at 8am and Tony Horton at 9am. I wanted to make sure I made it to Shaun T. So happy I did.

It was awesome. The routine he did was a little Focus T25, a little Insanity and a little Asylum but to HOT music and to the beat. I loved it. The routine was easier to do because there was music and it was more like dancing instead of crazy moves.

Although, they were still crazy. Funny how our minds play tricks on us. After the workout, we had some Shakeology. The resort made the Carl Daikeler special which is chocolate Shakeology, almond milk, peanut butter and ice. YUMMY!

We had breakfast at the resort. Saw fellow coaches and chatted it up for awhile. I had to take a shower because I was a hot mess after the workout. We got ready for the beach but before the beach, we made sure it to General Session with the CEO of Beachbody, Carl Daikeler. He had a BIG announcement to make!!!!

Yup! You heard that right. Shaun T is coming out with a NEW dance fitness program and guess who is one of the first people who is going to get certified to teach the program and will get access to the On Demand version before everyone else? Yes, your girl, your coach, ME!!!!! I can't wait to get certified and to help my Zumba fans with this program.

Why do I say Zumba people? Well, I mean all dance fitness fans. There are people out there who prefer not to feel like they are working out when they are working out. Weights is NOT their thing. A burpee? WHAT! That's not gonna happen. As a Zumba instructor, I have helped many of my students move more but have yet had the opportunity to help all of them with their nutrition. Now with Cize it Up, I can do both. It's not all about taking three classes a day. What you eat is so important and Beachbody offers that and my coaching takes it to the next level. I offer meal plans and support. More than I can offer teaching a one hour class.

After all that excitement, we went on the longest search for lounge chairs and opted to take it Jones Beach style and lay on the sand on the beach. Ain't no shame in my game! Some swimming, some lounging and some drinking with lots of SPF 30 on the body, I got BURNT. The sun in Mexico is no joke! That was my first and last time tanning on vacation.

While at the beach, I made a video on why I feel in my heart that this is what I need to do with my life! However, I will share that another day! ;)

Our upline coach had a very important meeting to go to, so my friend Cindy and I headed out to find the perfect spot for an impromptu photo shoot. We got some really beautiful gems out of it.

Afterwards, we went to the room, showered, sat around, worked a little (yes, I work on vacation) and headed out to our date night at a Mexican restaurant. Just us two.

On our way there we saw some fellow coaches, considered having dinner with them but the wait was too long and no one wants to see me hangry.

Date night it was! The food was delicious at the resort and so was the dessert.

We went over to the lobby and met up with our team. Each of us were receiving invitations to head out to the club at our resort by other coaches but when we got there, we did not see the people who invited us. We found other people, said hi, but they weren't very welcoming so we left. Probably for the better because we got to go back to the room early enough to sleep and wake up early again for the Tony Horton workout.

Beachbody Success Club Trip

Hey Hey Hey my people!! How are you? I am on my way to New York, returning from my my very first Success Club trip with Team Beachbody, and I am so excited to share all about it. For the next four days, you will get updates on what the trip was like. A little background: I became a coach in October 2013 after having amazing results with Focus T25. In April of 2014, a number of coaches that I knew went on an all expense paid cruise but I was a very new coach and at the time thought that I would need to put in like mad years before I got there. When the opportunity to go on the trip to Mexico came up, I originally hesitated. I thought I would never reach that level of success in my business. I added myself to the wait list and thought that MAYBE I would get on.  But my team helped me remained focused and I helped a minimum of 5 people a month for a year and guess what happened? I earned a FREE trip to Cancun!!!

I couldn't believe it (I still can't believe it!) and I was super excited to go. My fiance couldn't join me so I invited another coach on my team that also earned the trip  but didn't get off the wait list to come with me. She was game. We had no idea what to expect. We booked our flights and when April 15 came around, we were jumping for joy to join Team Beachbody. As you know, I have gone to the Zumba convention many times. The difference is that ZUMBA doesn't pay for these vacations for me. I DO. This was PAID by Team Beachbody because I choose to help others live healthier, fulfilling lives. When I tell you that Beachbody paid for this trip, its not that my earnings paid for it. Its that every time I helped someone begin their fitness journey, Beachbody deposited money into my vacation account. I STILL received commission for my sales. The trip is in addition to that.  It's different than teaching a number of classes and using that money to go on a vacation. This was literally an all-expense paid vacation.

There were trainings, there was fun, and there were workouts. Similar to the Zumba Convention but in my opinion BETTER. I am so happy I went.

I can't wait to share all of this with you.

Call Me Crazy OR Better Yet, INSANE

Hey everyone, as my friend reminded me on Facebook, this time last year, we were going crazy over the end of the Twinkie. What is wrong with us?!?!? Anyway, a year later and a bunch of you have joined me in this fitness journey. GO YOU!

It's late November and its that time of year where some of us stop working out because of the holiday, but me, I'm anxiously awaiting the new program by Shaun T, Insanity Max 30.

I was lucky enough last year to audition for this program and I got a sneak peek inside the insane mind of the creator. I made it to the last round and was sent home after two grueling days with a hug from Shaun T. Not to shabby!

I thought my muscles would give out and my heart would literally pop out of my chest. He is no joke.  The point of this program is to push you past your current limits.  Even after some of my friends who have done the workouts told me that its the craziest workout on DVD, I sit here writing to you to let you know that I CAN'T WAIT for its release!!!! Call me INSANE but I can't wait to push my body to the MAX.

Currently, I have created a schedule with three different programs. P90X3 for variety, PiYo because I teach it and enjoy the routines, and Beast for strength. Every week, based on my class schedule and whether I plan on subbing a few classes, I fit the Beachbody programs in. I am following a super clean eating plan to ensure I stay at a comfortable 130lb. But in December its time to SHOCK the BODY with the Insanity Max 30 nutrition plan and workout program. I can't wait to get on a new workout schedule.
