What people are searching for at FunFitChic.com

I love to look at my stats and see how people get here. Hello Googlers, hope I can answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go on this blog if I have an answer. Coffee and Focus T25

Well, I drink coffee before my workout when I am really sleepy or lethargic. We are busy people and sometimes we are lazy people. Coffee is my friend. Jillian Michaels says its fine. She has no problem with it and even got in trouble on Biggest Loser this season because she gave her contestants coffee pills. So go for it… unless it gives you the runs because the runs and a workout no good. Just remember you will have to drink more water so get that gallon ready. Also, you can buy E&E right here.

Brazilian Butt

This is the most popular search term that gets people to my site since I wrote this blog. I didn't like Brazilian Butt Lift but if you still want it, buy it off my Beachbody site. However, I suggest you take on a squat and lunge challenge to get that booty lifted. Being honest!

What to do after the 30 day shred? Ripped in 30 or Extreme Shred.

What a great question. I absolutely LOVE Ripped in 30. Just look at the abs I got thanks to good ole Jillian Michaels.

abs_funfitchic It is one of my favorite workouts on DVD and I didn't enjoy Extreme Shred. So I say do Ripped in 30. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Is Cardio Axe High or Low impact

If you are dancing with me, it's HIGH impact. I love shaking my booty and moving all around the floor, however …you can keep it low impact by eliminating the bounce. Hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

Dicks Sporting Goods Store Clothes

I love Dicks Sporting Goods and used to swear on it until I found the fitness rack at TJ Maxx. Cheaper, great brands and awesome stuff. I say go to Dicks and if what you want isn't on sale, go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls or Target. Not worth spending the money. Especially since TJ Maxx carries Nike, Reebok, Adidas and other brands. It may be a little harder to find Under Armour on sale or at one of these stores. If you know of a good place to buy cheap Under Armour clothing, let me know!

Jillian Michaels Body Revolution For Sale

IMG_2025 Hello you fit and beautiful people. For those of you interested in Body Revolution, I am selling mine. Not because I didn't like it but because I bought Focus T25 by BeachBody and I'm trying to stay away from being a fitness DVD hoarder. It's really hard to part from this bad boy but I know that variety is the spice of life and definitely the way to improve my fitness. I did the program twice and then used some of the routines I liked over and over again in my own made up schedule. The bid starts at $55.00 and Buy It Now price is $75.00. If you buy it online, it will cost $134.00 with shipping so THIS IS A DEAL.

Trader Joe's Rocks

Trader Joe's West Hartford 2

As a kid, I loved waking up on Sunday mornings, going to church and then going grocery shopping with my father. He is an artist at this stuff. He knew when we were running low on our groceries, whether we were able to splurge on some things, what produce and meat was good and ready to eat, what was in season and etc. I learned so much walking through the supermarket with him. Our supermarket was small and had a neighborhood feel to it. I found comfort in that

Now, picture this: Me, living on my own and walking into a MEGA 24/hour Stop and Shop all by myself. {insert horror music} SHRIEK.

I can't handle large supermarkets. They are ridiculous and NEVER have what I need but ALWAYS have what I don't. They frighten me and for years I resorted to Peapod and FreshDirect for my groceries. I highly recommend both delivery services - btw. Lately, I've become much more interested in picking out my own foods and planning my meals. When I was unemployed, I had a lot of time to go food shopping and one lucky day, I FOUND TRADER JOE's.

It's small. It has a neighborhood feel and has EXACTLY what I need. I like to think that it has everything thats in the perimeter of a supermarket without all the junk in between (all the aisles full of soda, cookies, spam, etc).

I found an article, written in 2010 by Fortune about the success of Trader Joe's and felt compelled to share. Check it out here.

Chic finds at Thrift Stores

A good friend of mine and fellow blogger, wrote about her love of thrift stores on her blog - Adventures of a New York Gypsy and I thought I'd share it with you all. I've never been to a thrift store. Like many stores with lots of items, thrift stores intimidate me. I am overwhelmed even before I walk in. But I trust Lisa and I've seen some of her fabulous thrift store finds . . . so I am thinking that the New York Gypsy and Fun. Fit. Chic. will be making a trip to the thrift stores of Westchester County real soon. In the meantime, check out some of the items she found on her most recent thrift store shopping experience:

So, are you into thrift store shopping? What are your favorite thrift stores and what items have you purchased?

I'm bringing back the fanny pack

So, I'm starting this running thing, right? And I have stuff I need to carry, right? and I can't carry it in my hands or on my back or whatever, right?  I have to put my keys, ID, Phone (music player) and water somewhere and holding it all in my hands or in my pockets isn't working. Today, while running around 80s fanny packmy neighborhood, I saw other morning runners with fancy "fanny" packs. Now, I haven't had a fanny pack since I was a kid. I used them to put away my Skelsies tops. For those who didn't grow up in the Bronx, those are the milk gallon tops with melted candle wax in them that you used as game pieces for your skully board (drawn on concrete with white chalk).

Fanny packs are SO NOT COOL. I know. But where am I suppose to keep all my stuff?

I started a search online and found that the running world has answered my anti-fanny pack prayers with cool bags that go around your waist (like a fanny pack) but don't necessarily look like fanny packs.

Here's a list of a few (with pictures and links):

Sports Unlimited Inc. has a "Fit Hydration Waist Pack" by CamelBak thats cheap, holds a water bottle and looks pretty cool. They sell it in various colors including pink. $22.50

Nike sells an "Audio Waist Pack" with pouch that screams "this ain't your daddy's fanny pack." Sold on various sites for $24.99.

FuelBelt.com sells a variety of versatile fanny packs for everyone. A little on the bulky side.  Price point on this one below is $41.95.

Spibelt.com sells these cute thin ones for runners and bikers. This waterproof belt is $23.95.

North Face sells a number of "waist packs" and have done so for years. I love the color of this one and at $25.00 it's a good price, although it sort of resembles the 80s fanny pack from up top.

On that note, I am going to keep shopping. If you have suggestions on what I should do with my stuff while I run, please let me know.
